The Goodness Tour: Puerto Rico

A song created via collaboration with over a hundred Puerto Rican's is poised to assist with bringing solar energy to over 13,000 folks currently still without power on the island. The song is “A Celebrar” and the team behind it is The Goodness Tour; a non-profit group who brings music and art to people facing adversity all over the world. Two months after the destruction of Hurricane Maria and Irma, the group travelled to Puerto Rico to work with kids and communities provoking artistic expression as a healing force through music and painting. It was in these initial efforts that an unexpected song was born through the voice of a man attending one of their classes. The team dropped everything to follow the birth of this special song in an incredible 3 month journey that weaved in vocalists and musicians from all across the Island. This incredible story resulted in a song and music video called “A Celebrar.” The Goodness Tour released this song on the island in Puerto Rico accompanied with an initiative to raise funds for a local Puerto Rican non-profit organization called Off Grid Relief, who are bringing solar power to homes still without electricity. The success of the song and it’s fundraising effort thus far, including the sale of several paintings by Goodness Tour painter Benjamin Swatez, raised enough money to bring solar power to 7 recipients, including the home of Mia Jordana; a 15 year old who is one of the key writers and singers of the song “A Celebrar.” Her family home had been without power for 130 days and were able to now flick on their lights thanks to Mia’s creativity. “A Celebrar” is an example of art into action. This powerful song born from the belly of adversity seeks to create joy, awareness and a solution to the many homes still in the dark across Puerto Rico. Help us raise more funds to bring light to families in great need all across Puerto Rico. Go to: THEGOODNESSTOUR.ORG where you can purchase the song and merchandise, or donate directly to OGR. Please share to bring awareness. Please donate to make a change. Thank you.

Music Video Created by: Glen Shackley Project by: The Goodness Tour http://www.thegoodnesstour.org "A Celebrar" is a song born out of nature between mothers, fathers, teenagers and elderly from all across the Island of Puerto Rico. In the months following Hurricane Maria a multitude of Puerto Rican's from all walks of life volunteered hundreds of hours to write, sing, play and record this therapeutic song of positivity. A 19 year old young man from Aguada (Gabriel Alejandro) wrote and sings the 1st verse and bridge, a 15 year old girl from Cayey (Mia Jordana Nieves) wrote and sings the second verse, a family from Moca (The Medina Family) wrote and sings the Chorus, an elderly Choir from Caguas (Coro Bautista de Caguas) sings in the end along with Isreal Medina Velazquez who wrote and sings lead in the finale. And that's not all, nearly 100 other contributors partook in the creative process. The song became so beautiful that we were able to get the famous Astra Studio’s to open their doors for free and bring all of the contributors from around the Island to come sing and record their own written parts on the track. Everyone working entirely volunteer for the love and healing of expression. Songwriters: Gabriel Alejandro Mia Jordana Nieves Marcelo Medina Velazquez Yohel D.
