PROJECTS
WHAT LUC DOES
Welcome To My House
This song and video project exemplifies Luc's multi-faceted work as a creative visionary and humanitarian. Luc co-wrote, sang and co-produced the song and collaborated as a screenwriter, creative director and producer for the music video. Created in collaboration with Voices of the Children, Glen Shackley, Luc and the Lovingtons, The Goodness Tour and Save The Children the song and music video was recorded and filmed between the Zaatari Syrian Refugee Camp in Northern Jordan and the Northwest United States. Its creation was birthed out of an ongoing service project which provided free courses in the arts to Syrian Refugee Youth. The song and video is a celebration of cross cultural bonds and a demonstration of human hospitality and love beyond all borders.
Speaker/Storyteller
Through the Tedx platform Luc shares the inspirational story of a song and service project that altered the course of his life. The Freedom song which was written by Luc and a group of kids in an evacuation shelter from Hurricane Katrina was eventually covered by two time grammy award winner Jason Mraz. Originally traveling to New Orleans as a Red Cross volunteer after hurricane Katrina, Luc had no intentions of writing a song that would travel across the globe sung by an A List artist and also become an anthem for former child slaves in West Africa. In the story Luc shares how key moments of trusting ones intuition and following the call inside can lead to an outcome far greater than we can imagine.
Creativity As
A Healing Force
Luc spent the better part of a year in Puerto Rico after hurricane Maria helping over 100 locals from all walks of life write a single song of revival. He then co-created a fundraising campaign which utilized the song to raise money to bring solar panel units for families with medical needs that were dependent on electricity for survival. This project exemplifies that the act of a community creating something together, simply the creative process alone, can be a tremendous healing tool for post traumatic stress. It also shows that the final creation, the outcome of an art piece born from the belly of adversity can be amplified to bring support and resources to help tackle the hardships of the humans who created it.
The Goodness Tour
Music and Art for People Facing Adversity
Luc co-founded a non profit organization called The Goodness Tour: Music and Art for People Facing Adversity. Since it's inception in 2014 Luc and a team of multi-disciplinary artists and therapists have brought free live concerts, art projects and creative course offerings to homeless shelters, refugee camps, disaster zones, war zones, recovery centers, hospitals and other places of crises to instigate creativity as a healing and empowerment tool.
